Commenting on Links Business Group LLC Blog - Part III (and apologies)
August 27th, 2007 by AdministratorHello Everyone:
We see that our comment policy is stifling and upsetting, rather than fostering strong dialog regarding our content. Pamela pointed this out in a comment today. Also, we came across a copy of our unfriendly comment form on Eric Norman’s blog. (”Stupid” is perhaps a tad strong, but your point is well taken.) Eric and Pamela — we hear you! You both bring up an important point that quality blog content includes a fine balance of both usability and security. As a result of your comments and others, the following changes have been made:
- Readers are no longer required to be logged in to comment (though we still encourage this via OpenID login.)
- Option to log in with OpenID is more obvious in the form. Those with an OpenID may choose to authenticate and post comments.
- Non-authenticated comments are accepted in the “Anonymous” section, but name and email address will be required (email address is not visible or published with the comment).
- Comment feedback is now instantaneous. A copy of your comment will be visible immediately, though it will still go to the moderation queue for processing.
- We’ll continue to make other form modifications as requested by our readers.
Thanks for reading!
Best regards,
Blog Administrator

This is a great improvement, thanks.
I hope many others follow your lead and also make their comment procedure more usable.
And yes, I agree that “stupid” is a bit of a string word. I apologize foe the hyperbole.
